Getting started


We are now getting down to the sharp end of our preparations for this year's trip.  We will be heading off on 3rd July and today is 18 June.  A lot of time to go you would think.  But it is amazing how quickly the time goes and before you know it you are left with just 2 days in which to get 2 weeks worth of preparation done.

So I have set up this blog and I am hoping it is going to work.  We have popped the top on the van and have installed our electric blankets and made up the beds.  It will now be a matter of loading into the van all the things we want to take as we think of them and then removing half of them!!.

    Hey John, 3rd of July eh? It'll be here before you know it and you'll be running around like a headless chook with your zillion and 1 check lists. My advice, don't sweat over it, just hitch the thing up and head out. What's the worst that can happen? You'll have forgotten something which you think is absolutely critical - and unless its your medication / scripts / doctors stuff - it ain't. You'll be surprised just what you can quickly learn to live without when faced with the prospect of having to buy replacements.

    Anyhow the blog looks a goer - good on yous
